Coming out of the Sipos family basement, Mesh is the product of years of playing and listening to music of all types. On this, their debut CD, many lines are crossed and many chances are taken. The band goes everywhere from moody almost atmospheric sounds to gut wrenching rock and blues to salt of the earth hook-laden country/rock with doses of progressive rock, jazz, folk and funk thrown in for good measure. With this as a setting, they dig deep with challenging lyrics that delve into the darkness of our daily lives but still embrace the promise of days to come. This definitely is a compilation of music and images for the opened minded listener searching for something a bit different and perhaps truly alternative. Chris, Kevin and Steve all reside in Waukegan, IL a far north suburb of Chicago and have been playing together in one way or another for years. After a few semi-serious runs with other bands and other band members, they finally decided to settle down during the summer of ë97 and get some original material on tape. After seven months and plenty of experimentation, they finally were finished. The result is Mesh, so named for the bandís willingness to throw whatever seems to work together to see what happens. The experience was literally a lesson in trial and error, but with hopefully worthwhile results.
